Seconds please, but not served with a spoon made of recycled computer parts!

Recycled computer parts given new life as kitchen utensils? Strange as it may sound, the answer is yes and is disturbing to say the least, knowing the chemicals contained in such items are potential sources of chemical contamination to our already overexposed bodies and environments. I first heard about this alarming bit of kitchen news a few weeks ago and as soon as I did, immediately stopped using the black plastic serving and cooking utensils I had had misgivings about anyway…Sturdy and practical as they may be (some are included with pots and pan sets), I did get a bit concerned when part of a black plastic spatula melted as I was cooking with it some time ago. I wondered what kind of health danger a melting spatula might pose at cellular levels and immediately stopped using it but was not as greatly concerned about sturdier, thicker black plastic serving spoons and spaghetti servers until I caught wind of some interesting facts regarding the toxicity of black plastic cookware, food containers, etc. made of recycled electronics, etc.. The reports are quite shocking, as we are already so well aware of the physical and environmental damage plastics can cause, have caused and are still causing., from as near as our bodies to as far as the ocean, clouds, and beyond. Did someone missed something? I will write more later but in the meantime, feel free to learn how you can protect yourself and those you love from harmful exposure to harmful chemicals found in every day, seemingly harmless items.
